BREAST CANCER

Breast cancer is very common this days. Breast cancer death rates are now higher than for any other cancer, besides lung cancer. According to the site breastcancer.org about 39,840 women in the U.S. are expected to die in 2010 from breast cancer, though death rates have been decreasing since 1991. These decreases are thought to be the result of treatment advances, earlier detection through screening, and increased awareness. There are more than 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. in 2010. My mom is one of many survivors of breast cancer. When my mother told me that she had breast cancer the first think that got to my mine was on how to help my mom. Although she didn't express her sadness and frighten i knew that she was. After 6 months my mom had her surgery and 1 month later she was cancer free. she had one of her breast taken out and had a breast implant later on. Now 5 months later you can even tell of her implant or that she had breast cancer.what save my moms life was her regular check up. There are different types of breast cancer. One is aggressive which can only take months for you to have cancer spread most part of your body where doctors can only give you radiations and try to defeat it but that is almost impossible. The other one is less aggressive which gives time to the doctors to examine the cancer well to try to defeat it and how they are going to defeat it.

The more common symptoms of breast cancer include a lump, an area of thickening, or a dimple in the breast. Less common signs include breast swelling and redness or an enlarged underarm lymph node.
Notice that having one of these symptoms it doesn't mean that you have cancer, most breast lumps turn out to benign (not cancerous).

One way of detecting breast cancer is physical examination. another way is a mammography it can be painful but trust me it can safe your life. Breast cancer doesn't respect ages but people over 40 and older have more risk of getting breast cancer so please have your self check and take care of yourself.
